The work computer has gone on the blink again, it turns on ok but gets stuck on the black screen with the windows xp logo. After a while it goes to the page where you can choose to start in safe mode/ normal mode etc and this just keeps happening. How can we fix it as we need it for job orders. Cheers in advance

So you can't start in Safe Mode or in Last Known Good Configuration?
Do you have your recovery disk and your XP CD?
I just had this on one of ours and it was a hard drive problem.

Don't mean to mock, but the first thing that occurred to me is the 'blue screen of death'.
