I had a suicidal sheep try something similar on the northern flanks of Snowdon - not quite as dramatic, but it could easily have had me off into a dry stone wall if my sheep avoidance technique hadn't been so finely tuned.

as per Rob Hilton - I've had a sheep run across a complete field in order to headbutt my stationary front wheel as I happened to be between it and the block. I was less skilfull at avoidance and went over.

Forget about that. I've just been reading the MET website with a view to buying one for a tri I've entered.
http://www.met-helmets.com/index.php/range-2011/6-stradivarius-ultimalite

Ultra light and resistant material that gaurentees safety, comfort and breathability

Quite an impressive claim that! I know which lid I'm buying....

One of the guys I ride with was taken out by a deer last year. 3months off the bike with various injuries.

"It's dangerous out there!"
