Well the free parking in Grizedale has finally ended, turned up at Moor Top for a few hours round the trails with the dog and it's now pay and display, wasnt there last weekend, I have no problem with them charging but at £4.50 for over 2 hours it's a little steep.

Bogle Crag is still free (further up past the VC) although no doubt that will be next.

I suspect any place that can fit more than a few cars in it will be next !

I dumped the van in the small lay-by down the hill towards hawkshead, no doubt that will have some posts stuck in it to stop you parking there too

Like I said, a few quid I don't mind but £4.50 is a tad steep.

£30 for an annual pass is pretty good value.

£40 according to the sign, still good value at that I reckon, would pay for itself easily.

I don't. £40 to leave my car in the middle of nowhere? Rip off.

The only problem with parking at High Cross is that any ride you do from there will always have to end with a climb 🙁

Better to finish a ride on a downhill I reckon

If I end up driving there, I park along the east side of coniston lake and go up the Lawson Park climb. Then you can go down one of the Lawson Park descents, or Parkamoor or any of the other tracks down that side of the hill to get back to the car. Problem solved. Never bother driving to the visitors centre cos its much more of a trek from my house.
