gave my bike a service today! after putting it all back together i noticed my brake lever is pulling all the way to the bars, didn't do my brakes in the service and they were absolutely fine when i last rode a week ago! have always been solid and i had them serviced by hope about a year ago with probably only one or 2 blasts a week so not had massive use in comparison to a lot of other riders etc. pads still have plenty of use in them also etc! when i squeezed the lever i notice some liquid dripping off the caliper but cant tell if this was just residual water from where i have just cleaned it or if it was brake fluid, only did it once and the next time i squeezed no leakage etc!! any ideas??
I the liquid tastes like earwax then it's probably brake fluid!
Clean everything up and dry it. Then go for a quick ride dragging that brake a lot and then check for leaks. My guess is the "banjo" connection where the hose connects to the caliper. If so, do it up tight and bleed your brakes.
nice!! ill have a look and see if thats it!! havent got any brake fluid though i dont think :-/
think it's sorted!! tasted like ear wax lol and found some brake fluid so given it a bleed! seems ok now!! guess i'll find out tomorrow when im riding:)
Quite likely if you've had the bike upside down that you just had residual air from the reservoir find it's way into the system.
The problem with my Mono Minis is they refuse to die which would allow me to justify some new Tech 3s!
