Hi guys , I'm considering a 2013 foxy r as my next bike but I've read that the rear end is quite flexy . Any actual owners or people that have owned one care to comment on this please .

Cheers guys

Had a Dune of that vintage and a 2011 Foxy, which used a similar tubeset.

If the bike you're looking at has a QR rear then yes it'll be very flexy.

If it's a Maxle one then less so, but if you're the kind of rider who notices flex in bikes, you'll probably still think it's flexy.

I could use a 10mm qr , would that make a difference ?

Since the rear triangle doesn't incorporate a a pivot at the rear dropout, the rear axle shouldn't benefit from a rear bolt through axle - that's what Mondraker and other brands like Santa Cruz believe anyway.

Is the flex really that bad ?

I had a 10mm qr in my old dune and it was a big improvement.

Still flexier than a lot of bikes though.
