In! Advance warning: I may be spontaneously singing and dancing around in sheer joy at having finally, finally got to the end of the ****ing interminable school summer holidays, so apologies for that.

Which bloody great big hill are we going up this time?

Same one as last time ๐Ÿ˜€

Very similar to what we did last time but without the drop to Marsden, and instead going across Blackstone Edge and then across/down Mordor.

Or we could head over to the reservoirs behind the Whitehouse if the weather doesn't play nice.

Planning on being there. Not been out on a proper* ride for ages, what with holidays and DIY duties.

*bike ride just for the sake of riding a bike. Commuting has a purpose and doesn't count.

If you follow the pennine way past the White House you can go all the way to Stoodley Pike staying on high ground. On the way back from Stoodley Pike you can turn left after 1.5 miles and ride a long section around Langfield Common that ends up back at the White House, that also stays on high ground throughout.

Yup I know that one very well. We did it on a ride earlier this year. That's the backup option if the weather's less than ideal.

Tarnation! I was a dead cert for an 8pm start. However I've already committed to She Who Must Be Obeyed to trod around various shops picking up the necessaries for the impending arrival of junior rodent. Very doubtful that I'll be able to complete that and make it to Hollingworth for 5.30. I'll test the water and confirm either way shortly..

Looks like I'm still going to have the Binnerettes, so not going to be able to make a 5.30 start. So a few of us are doing a local run starting later. It's looking like a 7.30 kick off from the Shoulder if anyone else can't make 5.30

Just checking we've definites for 5.30 at Hollingworth. If so I'll see you there, otherwise I'm happy to do Rammy at 7.30 if no one can make the earlier time. Weather looks like it will just about hold out.

I'll see how I'm feeling later but having driven just short of 750 miles from Southern Brittany in the past 48 hrs I have to say I'm lacking any burning desire to climb back into my car today...

Edit: just to clarify - I'm definitely not going to make the 5.30 daz.

Great ride Daz. The rocky bit, just after the pics below were taken, was some lovely technical puzzle solving.

Nice pics chaps! It's starting to get quite boggy up on the tops. Interstellar was ... erm.... interesting

Seems mostly ok still over Littleborough way, including Mordor, though I suppose what Daz took us over was largely sandy and rocky.
