I recall we were discussing it and I chanced on this explanation today, I don't know if it will be of interest to you...

The rest of the site is good too, especially the articles tagged 'cycling'...

Ooh not seen that site before, a lot of good articles there. the TdF power one is worth a read. http://www.sportsscientists.com/2010/07/power-outputs-from-tour-de-france.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+blogspot/cJKs+(The+Science+of+Sport)
Very good.
That power one is interesting, particularly how much it's slowed down in recent years!
I can do 300W for 15 minutes if I'm really trying and that's my lot, fair play to domestiques doing >400 for that time!
ive skim read it, and it tells me that the exercise i do in lifting the bar of chocolate to my mouth is powered by fat.
so if i up my consumption to twenty bars a day (and more would require moderate exercise levels) i will have a Mens Health perfect 6 by the end of the month.

Sweet. Thanks for that link. Basically backs up what I've been saying but with more detail and knowledge ๐
Interesting that it says dietary habits affect your tendency to use different fuels. I've noticed this since I started training.
