I've seen on [url= http://www.velosolo.co.uk/sstens.html ]VeloSolo[/url] that the basic Doofer type tensioners can be modded to push the chain upwards. Anyone know how it's done? Says it's easily reversible too. I've got a SSC version, but can't see how it's done.

look for the Surly push up spring and you may need to remove the pin that reacts against the lip on the mech hanger if it has one. There is 2 shops I know of that sell the surly spring online. Owner of one posts here (but not allowed to say the name apparently) and he is also on ebay.
