I was going to change my front tyre from a Maxxis Minion DH Tyre 2.35 with a 2.0 Storm Control to cut and grip more in mud, while leaving my Maxxis Minion DH Rear Tyre 2.35 on. Has anyone done this before and any opinions would be appreciated? ๐Ÿ˜€

suppose it depends where you ride - I'd have the mud tyre on the back to keep me moving, but then I ride round a large bog during winter

Have a play around, it's subjective and also depends on your riding and terrain.

I don't think I've ever had a matching pair of tyres, I really can't see why it would be a concern TBH

I think a lot of people will be repeating uplink's post, I would think about a grippier rear tyre though.

Maxxis Swamp thing 2.35 front and Minion 2.35 rear is a fine winter combo if you can accept a bit more drag.
