missing x5 front de...
 

[Closed] missing x5 front derailleur part?????

hi all. i've just got hold of an x5 front derailleur and i think it's missing the bracket to attach on the bike. can i get hold of this from anywhere? are they universal or would i have to go to sram?

That is a direct mount front mech so it does not have a bracket. Its designed to attach directly to the frame. Whether you can get a clamp to make it work i'm not sure.

argh. that explains a lot. i think i've seen adapters but i reckon i'll just go for a different one. cheers for the advice ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a Sram x7 front mech kicking around in the spare box if your interested.
I think its a SRAM X7 3x10sp High Clamp Front Mech like this.

Have got an X-7 2x10 mech, a bit scuffed. I was going to clean it up and sell it on but, as above, will send it to you for the price of postage. E-mail address in profile if you want it mate.

Ok cool. You can move the high /low adjustment screws on a x3 mech and it will work. Just saying ๐Ÿ™‚

sound ungratefull now but i'd rather go for the 2x10 but thank you though. we need more ppl like you two in the world!

No worries mate, I'm splitting a bike and hoping to sell most of it on here rather than Ebay so aren't to a few quid or so ๐Ÿ˜†

my seat post is 30.9 (whyte905). would that be 31.8 outer diameter? it only specifies the seat tube diameter on their site. i'm an absolute noob building a bike from scratch so i'm a bit empty up stairs. ๐Ÿ˜•
