Any good? Any fallen apart yet?
Do the black ones stay black better than Shimano?

(I've got a £100 Middleburn voucher burning a hole in my pocket, see)
🙂

My Silver ones survived two weeks in the Alps & a month of local rides OK so far (single DH ring set up)

No. I won it. Middleburn have my name and are expecting me to spend it!

It just seems a bit of a waste to just get chainrings with it, but I'm a devout Shimano man when it comes to cranks, and it's still not cheap with £100 off RRP......

Elfin, you could have raced me for it...... 🙂

Ohh I'm umming and ahhing. Even with £100 off it's still £50 more than I've EVER spent on cranks....

😕

the silver ones look nice. Previous black ones have been similar to shimano. I would be inclined to go silver.

See, I really really want black. And if it's going to fall off I might as well stick with Deore.....

They don't make anything else I want though, really....

I got the new x-type silver 4 arm duo's, sweet cranks and would highly recommend them. An added bonus is the lifetime warranty which is legendary. Just use some loctite 222 on the axle thread when installing them. Best cranks I've owned and they won't be on every other bike which is also nice.

Mine are good and are still black after 500 or so miles.

Although i was thinking if the black starts wearing too much and i get bored 🙄 during the dark winter months i might strip them back and polish 'em up.

+1 for Ruscle's comments.

I have them on both my hardtail and my AM. The only thing I've had an issue with is losing the small grub screw that tightens up the preload collar and holds it in place EDIT: but Middleburn were very helpful and just sent me one in the post.

I run 1x10 on both bikes and have silver and black versions. The black ones have not scuffed yet but I've only had them 6 months.

I run one with an Uno ring, which saves some weight I think; the other I run with a regular spider and Renthal ring.

Buy 'em and flog on the Classifieds?

I love mine - very light, strong and haven't fallen apart yet. I had some of the first ones available so have ben on them for almost a year now.

I had to hacksaw through a set the other week due to the bolt rounding off. I personally won't buy them again.
