Ok,I have just bought a pair of Middleburn cranks to run a three ring set up on a Scandal with a stock xt mech,how do I determine what size I need of bb? Thanks

You could try looking on the Middleburn website, where it'll tell you that 113mm is needed for the now standard 50mm chainline.

...although given the chainring chainstay clearances, I always ran an 118mm on my Inbred 853.

I did look on middleburn site,when they were a bit vague,hence advice such as nukes being useful.

If you have any feedback for Middleburn, I have met the boss man and he is a great guy. Let me know your experiences and i will pass them on. If you think something needs fixing on their site I can ask.
