At the time of the launch, the only companies offering Micro Spline hubs are Shimano and DT Swiss. For riders who roll on DT 240 and 350 hubs this will be a matter of swapping freehub bodies.
So it sounds like some manufacturers are making it backwards compatible, Shimano isn't.

I know right, My iron hobby horse was just dandy until pedals came along...
Shimano didnt expect anybody would want to do that. Me neither, especially now its trickled down even further and cheaper to Deore.
I am sure there be plenty of people be happy to swap your wheel for a standard freehub wheel that they have.
I'm missing a trick here.
With a micro spline freehub - can I still use a std 10speed HG cassette???

Next thing your going to tell me is Micro Spline and Octalink use a different removal tool!
Change or die - as the saying goes.....
Octalink ?, wasn't that from the previous century.😃
Octalink may have had few friends, but at least it wasn't a filthy terrorist lover.
