Well built frames. usually not too heavy. Some of the hardtails are uber-light. Bombproof without the 'HEY EVERYBODY!!! LOOK AT ME!!!!!!' guff. They make frames for a lot of other more familiar companies too

I've had 3 of them. 2 full sussers and a hardtail. Great frames. I'd buy another one tomorrow.

I've had 1 hardtail and two full suss frames from Merida.

I sold the first full suss and replaced it with a Blur, got tired of replacing the bearing on the blur and bought the all singing, all dancing version of the original frame I sold. I still have that frame and it's great.

merida were the first full suss frames to win XC world championship races (5 in 2005, the first year I believe), they own 49% of specalized so I presume they still make all their frames, oh and they are the 2nd biggest bike manufacturer after Giant.

The hardtail was class - massive step up from the Mustang I started to MTB on - it was sold on and is still going strong. Oh and the first full suss frame that I sold was bought by a fella (for a deore front disc brake) that has qualified for the olympics 3x and he stated that it was very, very fast if a bit short in the top tube for him.
