Not really a "bicycle" though is it, it's just a 2 wheeled rocket sled! 🙂

She packed my bags last night, preflight
Zero hour, nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high
As a kite by then

I miss the earth so much
I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight

And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Ah, no no no
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man
Burnin' out his fuse
Up here alone

Mars ain't the kind of place
To raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them
If you did

And all this science
I don't understand
It's just my job
Five days a week
A rocket man
Rocket Man

And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Ah, no no no

And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Ah, no no no...
I'm a rocket man
Rocket man
Burnin' out his fuse
Up here alone

And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time
And I think it's gonna be a long, long, time

Long, long, time
Long, long, time

Ah, no, no, no...
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no...

That's properly insane. Have you followed the link through to his webiste though? 😯

I did notice he still had a bicycle drivetrain, chain cranks and mech, and a second higher up set of bars all fitted, so technically it can be ridden as a bicycle, albeit a shit one, is that in some way significant for his record attempt? that it's a rocket assisted 'bicycle' rather than a bike?

Incidentally what sort of feehub is happy to buzz along at at 207mph then?

It makes sense actually, When you look like the bastard offspring of a Morlock and a Warlock you need to come up with an angle to get the ladies interested and how could they resist:

"Hey, want to see my Rocket powered bicycle?"

Have you followed the link through to his webiste though?

Clearly his thought processes run something like:

1- Has it got wheels?
2- Can I fit a Hydrogen-Peroxide Rocket to it?

Just watched this. Utterly utterly bonkers.

Great quote:
The acceleration is quick, the bicycle wobbles, and vibrations are huge on the bad surface of the track (the bicycle is rigid). The wind blast is so strong when you are getting close to the peak speed.

On the other side, when you are riding at more than 250 km/h and suddenly your head is pulled backward with a high force (that was not a good idea to add a GoPro on the helmet), the last second of acceleration seemed an eternity.

Did you see the project started in the mid-90s??

No wonder it still has v-brakes.

Company name: Kamikaze 😯

someone's gotta say it - imagine how much faster he would've been on a 29er

neilwheel - Member

It's not very enduro though.

It's long, low and slack - what more do you want!?

The top speed is amazing, but the acceleration is nuts!

Just found that. Great stuff 🙂 Says on the BBC link that he pedalled it to the start line, which qualifies it as a bike I think.
