Just dropped a DHX 5 coil onto my Mega, nicer more supportive feel to the bike now. Along with MRP ramp control and Fast hi/lo damper upgrade, this is now the nicest riding bike I've had!
Weight is just over 30lb
Pictures man, pictures....
Looks mint with the coil shock in.
I owned a Mega for about a day but chickened out and sent it back and got a Cotic Rocket instead. Mega looks very nice though.
I think I'd have to run the shock with the piggyback forward and on top though.
But that's just me... ๐
Nice bike, I do miss a coil shock, air is good but I'm yet to find one as plush.
Oh the woes I've had with my mega. How long have you had it?
Looking good cyclelife, I'm picking up my 275 Team on Wednesday, I can't wait.
What problems have you had Wrightyson?
Had it since June, no problems with the bike but not happy with the Monarch that was on it! Still got it for XC duties though.
The shock has to be run this way around due to the angle of the mount on the downtube a Vivid will fit the normal way but I don't mind and the weight is lower this way round.
Also fitted MRP ramp control along with Fast Hi/Lo damper - fork is now better than any Fox 36 I've owned as it has more grip.
I've been waiting to post regarding mine on here for some advice. It's basically eating shock bushings. It's back with crc as we speak, when it comes back I'll open up that post and the history of my two year saga from the purchase of my original tr275...
I had trouble with my Monarch (clunk/knock on changeover from compression to rebound stroke), my unit was sent back to Fishers who said there was nothing wrong with it but before they asked for it back they said to check the bushings and mounting hardware as there had been some issues with a batch - maybe that's where your problem lies? Since it came back I've had it rebuilt by TF Tuned who found some lumps in the anodising in the piggy back case, they polished them out during the rebuild and it's spot on now, just using the coil as I like the extra mid stroke support and it was lying around doing nothing.
