Had a go on wednesday and failed dramaticly! I finally realised somethings are best left to the the younger riders that don't need to worry about paying mortgage's! The rest of the black route was fantastic though, much nicer than the Welsh trails. I will be back!

Couldn't get past the first dip, front wheel stuck.

I have come to realise mountain biking is so much more fun if you accept your limitations and yeah, try and do that little bit more than you think you can, but McMoab, forget it.

+1 for cleaning it all. got it first time on flatties, went back a couple of days later on spds and found it harder. went back again on flats and got it all, then had a play making up my own lines. il ike the chute at the end, is it the ridge or something? dead easy but looks ridiculous when you first see it.

it's not really very hard but it's straight after a climb. bets to take a rest before you go into it as it demands some power and a lot of concentration

Not cleared it in one but get a bit better each time I try it, but the best is to come at that point after heartbreak hill that singletrack back to the road is worth not putting to much into McMoab ๐Ÿ™‚ In my opinion of course!!

Lowey = that's a great photo as all others seem to flatten it.

Forge - I was talking about the little chute on the singletrack maybe that is still on the first red section.

There is a small slab at Dalbeattie I have have yet to try and do so yeah, one day I may try a small on of these somewhere with one heck of a long run off at the bottom.

I have to say respect to Haddock though who rode both the Slab and Terrible Twins yesterday.

On that picture the chute looks almost vertical, surely it can't be that steep!!

it's not far off!

i always want to give it a go but am put off by consequences. I've ridden steeper stuff but have always had a full facer on and my saddle down. I can't be arsed putting my saddle down for UK trail centre stuff.

Oh what an excuse. 'No, no lads i'm not doing it, can't be bothered to put my saddle down'. Classic.

Its not the chute itself i find scary its riding along the sheer wall at the top. I think I would chicken out, try and unclip, fail and have the mother of all clipped in tumbles.

How does it compare to the Slickrock trail. I've cleaned that

A shed load easier, for a start its only about 500m long (if that!) Slickrock trail has some seriously steep sections - pretty impressive to clean it!

It took me a long loooong time to clear the chute at the end. I did it on my last trip over there though and went up and did it another few times for good measure. Not as hard as it loks but still felt brilliant to finally do it. ๐Ÿ˜€
