Hi,
I am thinking of taking part in the Strathpuffer 24hr in Jan just as we have done the last 2 years. However the mud is pretty mad especially if it is anything like last year, and running my highrollers doesn't seem like an option to be honest. I am really looking for something that is relatively cheap and a light xc tyre which is pretty good in the mud. I found the ignitors on crc for £14 each and was wondering how good they are in the mud?
Thanks
Tip-top. Simple as that, the exception series are very light indeed.
Are they any good in mud mate??
Hi
used them before and good summer/ xc tyre
very light but not a mud tyre, as they don't clear well
try the maxxis medusa
i have them on my bike at the minute and as said above i dont find they clear too well when it gets muddy. when it gets really muddy i have a maxxis medusa that i change over to.
Not a mud tyre, but not bad in the damp. Fair shoulder for grip then a quite predictable slide when they 'go' (all the maxxis I've tried have been predictable in that way though tbh)
Much faster rolling than the High Roller though; and heaps lighter.
I run them as my winter tyre down here in Australia, though throw on Medusas for the odd few weeks of the winter when it's really grim, or am riding an area that holds the water.
