following on from the advantage thread....

think this sounds like a decent compromise, but should i run the medusa at the back or front??

id still like it to be fast rolling, so thinking the advantage will be better at the back and the medusa better for digging in at the front??

or shall i just go for 2 advantages? and be done with trying different setups?

cheers folksss!

depends what and where you are riding

my first thought would be for the medusa on the back

its peak area mostly and its mostly rocky/gravely with road thrown in to get me there etc...there are a few bits of slippyness in woods (not too much) but its mostly gonna be rocky singletrack sandy and not overly sloppy/guey....

Depends on what your riding and style of riding. If you find you're lacking in grip at the front then stick the medusa there, if you need it at the back then put it there. If it's not properly gloopy I'd probably go Advantage front and rear and see how you get on.

cheers mrblobby - its really tought deciding and at almost 40 a pop i dont wanna have to buy more....

i am genuinley thinking of just going for the advantage on both now...i used to run nobby nics in 09 ust and they were fine all year round, then i bought the 2010 version and sold them after 2 weeks they had changed and absolutly shite in the winter!

i guess if the advantage are a decent allround and not mud specific it would probably be fine for where i ride..

Love the ADvantage, parricularly in the 2.25 size. If it weren't so muddy round Bristol/Bath i'd stick with them all year.

If rocky or trail centre Id use Ardents both ends. Medusa useless on rocks because of the nobs you but great in mud. I have all three tyres plus HR. But now only use Ardents they seem to be ideal and I run them at 20psi as their UST
