I'm looking at getting a new stem and have come across this - [url= http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=4087 ]Maxm MX2[/url]. Not heard of this make before although think I may have seen some carbon bars in a mag years ago.
Have any of you tried this before? Don't know whether to go for it at that price The only isue I have is that it's a two bolt face plate where as I think a four bolt would be stronger. What say you...
I have Maxm carbon bars (MX-5) & seatpost on my Titus from 2003 & still going strong. Reasonably light, work, have a wierd criss cross thing to stop total separation in event of a FAIL, but not needed so far. (Bike routinely thrashed & dropped at speed in the peak, so had it's fair share of abuse.)
Wouldn't have been first choice but perfectly workable etc for a mid - high quality component.
re 2 bolts:
