I recently got a set of 2006 Marzocchi marathon XC off ebay and am having a mare setting them up. I bought the adaptor to allow a standard shock pump to work but every time I get the sag set correctly I lose a sh!t load of air disconnecting the pump. Do you get a low pressure marzocchi pump with the skinny adaptor? anyone got one kicking about?
I'd definitely use a low pressure pump if you can buy or borrow one. It's so difficult to get the correct settings otherwise.
My Marathon Race lose air too once the pump is disconnected, but it should be possible to work out how much air they lose each time, then deliberately add too much air so that when you remove the pump, the fork remains at the right pressure. E.g. I had to pump to 140psi to get the fork to remain at 90psi once the pump was removed.
Cheers Eldrik. I've stuck a post on the classifieds to see if anyone has a low pressure pump knocking about.
