Hey one of those little red dots is me. Glad the police did something with my RTI report.

Interesting stuff and only seven (conpared to other places) on my 11 mile commute. Percentage wise the worse places are (a) a roundabout on a 3 lane carriageway & (b) a busy crossroads with car drivers deperate to either whizz across or join the main road (I'm always wary of this one).

It's good that but the accident I was involved in in 2007 isn't on the map. Is there some sort of criteria to be included - injuries sustained, etc. I was knocked off, called the police, got a reference number but its not on that map.

Who says that was an accident 😉

The one in the middle of Cardigan bay is slightly worrying! And teh fact that there were two in the Scilly Isles! Proportionally, that must be the most dangerous place in the country then?

No accidents at all on the windy A466 from Monmouth to Chepstow, or the A40 from Gloucester to Abergavenny. Both roads I avoid because they scare me...

Clearly redspots, not blackspots.

And looks like the glaswegian contingent rarely report accidents!

Gary_M - it's accidents where an injury was sustained and it was reported to the police. If you didn't sustain an injury, it won't be on there.

Also worth noting that accidents are only recorded if they occur on public highway - so any accidents on private roads or many off-road cycle paths won't be recorded.

Handy information though

8 on my commute!

The shared bus/cycle lane in the City I ride seems a real hot spot for accidents.

Interesting stuff miketually, will make me think a bit more about the routes I take from now on.

Thanks for posting.
