I feel we should acknowledge him. Very sad for the family, not least his grandson who shared the adventure, but they can be immensely proud.

Huh, forum ate my reply apparently. An awesome feat indeed, but going out with your boots on at 82 years old - plenty of people would choose that.

Sad, but kind of nice thst kid got that experience with him before he went. Far worse wsys to go for an 82 year old

Yep, if I could pass peacefully at 82 the day after a huge fundraising ride, hell, I'd die with a smile on my face.
