That's a really powerful article, definitely positive and shows the love of riding for what it is.

Thanks for sharing the link!

Good for Tom, I remember reading about his accident at the time.

I've looked into getting a bike/quad style built with an electric motor and throttle as I last managed to ride my throttle equipped bafang cove hummer in 2020….i fell off in the woods and spent a cold night rolling around in my own piss n’shite before I was found in the morning (yeah….no bladder/bowel control), due to progression my legs don’t work or move anymore and my arms are going the same way so a throttle equipped quad style would be ideal but it’s massively cost prohibitive on disability benefits and the few builders I talked to said it would be illegal due to the throttle so they wouldn’t build it.

Doesn't the Bowhead Reach have throttle control?

EDIT: sorry I'm guessing they're not cheap!

They look great fun (expensive though) but due to muscle spasms in legs I couldn’t sit with them stretched out like that despite max allowable Botox 500iu every 3 months, there’s zero possibility of managing to get into that position, I still ride (and crash 😉 ) in my dreams so that’ll have to do.

Does something exist that would work for you, and if so, could it be crowd funded?

Think its a bit late now for that sort of thing given how things have progressed - and I'd never accept someone else paying for anything, 3 years ago a mate gave me his electric quad to head into the woods with (at walking pace wi mum or with my mate and her dog) but the geriatric retires round here complained to the police and they attempted to charge me but thankfully the procurator refused the case...given the abuse my mum gave the piss-ignorant police I'm surprised she never got charged with physical abuse - she was looking forward to speaking her mind in court at the age of 70 😉

Given the fact it was myself who had maintained all the trails in the local woods over the previous 25 years I figured I had the right to be there but apparently not.
