You can change the albert select (magura did it for free for me when i sent it in for a service), but the travel adjust needs to have the control on the bars still (unless you remove it entirely and just run them at 160 (I do)).

VERY linear compared to Fox and Rockshox from what I recall...

Which can suit the lighter rider quite well, but not the heavier/harder rider if you get me.

For the Bullit?

i love them .a recent survice from the guys in ashby gave them a new lease of life.

the upgraded both the a/s & travel adjust to a new version foc.

had issues with the early metal good quality switchers they used to gunk up easy & seize but the new flimsy cheaper plastic ones are smoother in all conditions.

Think the ones ive got coming are 09's with the crappy / better plastic levers. Not sure about having all that crap on my bars though. Would prefer crown controlls but hey ho.

As if you'd ever ride hard enough to find out what they're like

Not bad, nice and linear but do ramp up at the end if you really bin a landing. Seem fairly strong. They do need servicing tho - you'll know when they do, it's like night and day. Suddenly the fork feels like a pile of crap!

They're a bit heavy for an air fork, but they are very very stiff. Coped with a few trips to the alps no problems (as long as you get them serviced before).

Magura UK have offered first class service as well, stanchion got a tiny scratch(cosmetic rather than dangerous) in it during transit - no questions asked they just replaced the fork uppers, and as it was a couple of days before my holiday they just sorted it when I got back.
