Magura MT2 brakes with no barb insert

I have a set of Magura MT2 brakes I picked up new from a bike shop during the covid period, never got around to fitting them as something better came along.  Yesterday I fitted them to a build and when I went to shorten the hoses found that they had bee fitted with the olive but without the barb insert, this was on both levers.

I assume that this was a Friday afternoon job covid style, and that barbs should have been fitted seeing as they share the same lever body as other brake sets like the mt4 and mt5.
