Practical experience please!

Did my first ride with it last night and was blown away by how good it is for the money..
I love the colour codeing for the battery % left, but what does it mean in real terms..
What voltage does the light cut out at, and how long have you got left when you get the red and then the flashing red??

Ta

I found it drops through the colours very quickly and is soon on red, but then lasts quite a while. If I turn it down to a lower level the blue light comes back on again, so I don't think it's all that useful.

you can put your bike away with the light on red, and it will prolly still be lit up in the morning!

did it with mine just to drain the battery

You get about 10-30 minutes depending on what mode it is in and the health of the battery.

All my magicshine or other Chinese made li-ions (2s2p and 2s3p) have been very good.

Run mine for 7 hrs, mainly on the lowest setting, but occasionally up a notch for trickier bits. The colour system seemed to work quite well at about 2:20hrs to 2:30hrs for each colour....

sure it isnt the battery? There was a rectangular circuit board on mine (the under/ overvoltage thingy) that was soaked under the heat shrink.

Removed the heatshrink on the battery pack, dried out and resealed and it came back to life. If the protector malfunctions, there will be no output to your light unit.

I'm confused!

There seems to be Magicshines and 'Magicshines' and ebay variants, people selling the lamp unit on their own....copies of the lamp units etc etc.

Hence, what is the latest most waterproofed and original magic shine lamp please? Was thinking of getting a couple of the lower power versions for my lads bikes while I'm saving up for one of Trouties uber DD's super-nova units ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I use mine on level 2 and 4(max). Poor eyesight innit.

On 2 its still green after an hour (never climb for more than that). After about 3 hours mixed its gone orange. 4 hours red. Still going an hour later and never been out long enough to run it to flashing red. Sometimes the colour goes to the next level down when on max then returns up one level when turned down.

I checked the volts after a ride once when it had just turned red and it was 7.4v.

I'd guesstimate 2.5 hours on max all the time.

I have 1 x 4400 mah magicshine (I think, light and box is exactly the same but no magicshine logo) and 4 x 6400 mah chinese made li-ion magicshine/bikeray/etc batterypacks, 2 of which came with lights (sold as a Subb 66 and an Indian seller and torchythebatteryboy, all ebay.

The original 2 year old 4400 mah pack, which has been left charging for over a day on more than one occassion and all the other packs have been great. The original pack gets 3 hours on max and loads on medium and flashing despite the abuse.
