I've worn the roller quite badly on my Minoura B60 and am thinking of getting a new turbo in the sales.
Am I right that "Fluid" is at the top of the order? (Elite Chrono Fluid Elastogel FWIW)

Yes fluid is best for road feel and simplicity (no having to change resistance settings). I can recommend the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine.
However if you are a heavy user which it sounds like you are, unless the Minora's roller is made of cheese, then what Swedish Chef says about rhe Kickr makes sense. I'm starting the man maths and logic to see if I can justify a Kickr too.
The Elite has a larger roller and its the weight of the rider+bike on the roller rather than like most trainers where you push up the roller onto the tyre, this means less faffing, a lot less tyre wear and a quieter trainer. The fluid is great just change gear to alter resistance, will add it varies slightly till you get it warmed up and the heatsink can get bloody hot after a decent session on it.

russell96 that's exactly why I was looking at it as my turbo bike is also my winter/commute type bike so it often on/off the trainer. Your experience of it is good then?
Golly just had a look in my email archive I've had it since December 2009 (didn't think I'd had it that long) and it gets plenty of winter abuse
