[#7313918]

following my deliberations about finding baggies that won't slip down when riding (with bibs underneath), I've had success with a new pair of Madison Addicts yesterday, so all sorted. Wanting a second pair, for wash day 🙂 and wondering how the Zeniths compared ?

would be easy to just get another pair of Addicts I guess !

Zeniths are lighter weight fabric with a bit of stretch, and have drawstring waist rather than the double stud and zipper of the Addict.

^^ thanks for that, The Addicts seem to have useful stretchy front panels, so might try the Zeniths too, Cheers

Zenith has double stud and zipper too, I have some and they're a really comfy short. According to madison site addict seems to have a little more water resistant material and pockets than the zeniths

Sorry - given the time of year, I thought you were asking about the new waterproof shorts options - my comments were about them.

To answer your Q - the Addict is essentially the Zenith but with a waterproof rear.

Flux is worth a thought - they're my favourite. Longer, lighter, stretchier and with a better DWR finish.

Probably the same for the Addict, but I find the Zeniths come up quite large ie I take a L easily but and XL in Endura etc

the only trouble with the Madisons is that you will find your personal info and predilections released on t'interweb by hackers for all the world to see your private peccadilloes 😉

Iain - wee update... Current Addicts are to be replaced with "Addict DWR" which look to be an updated version of current ones. Also will be an "Addict Softshell" for colder weather, and the Addict Waterproof shorts which I mentioned in the 1st reply.

Choices choices!

^^^ Interesting, probably why there are some discounts on the current Addicts I guess !

I have some of the older Tempest waterproof ones for the manky winter days 🙂

I've got both, though my Addicts have about had it.

The Zenith is longer in the leg, covers the tops of pads easily, the Addict only just does. The Addict is much more weather resistant though with it's waterproof arse.

I like both but could probably go down a size now after a bit of weight loss and they do come up pretty big.
