Went to the local bike shop for the first time at this new job, it's a specialist in recumbents and a few other esoteric things. Amongst other things they had wooden grips, and a couple of fully faired incredibly quick looking low riders (one I saw on the road the other day), yours for only about 5000 euros which I thought rather reasonable.
However the best thing was a three wheeled low rider sort of like this:
But lower, chunkier with what looked like 2.1 street tyres, disks, and with a 500W electric motor fitted. 500W! With a 20Ah 24V battery it can put that out for an hour, more or less. For comparison, I managed a 10 mile TT flat time trial in under 25 mins on a road bike at 330W. So 500W is what your average mtber could keep up for say 1-3 mins.
Add that to your own 250-300W or so and the fact that you're a few inches off the ground you're in for a wild ride ๐
