22 months after backing it on Kickstarter & 17 months late it has finally arrived.

However, took five minutes to install, and the first 'woohoo' from my 4yr old made it worth the wait.

Any other backers got theirs yet?

I have 2 mates with them. The designer used to live locally before moving to canada. Reports back are first class!

Nice!! Saw these but was wondering about spacers on the head tube. I have limited space on mine. What's the minimum requirement Jambo?

Looks awesome. Enjoy!

I think it's about 10mm. I've had put a small extra spacer in so it clears my short stem. Can measure it later if you want.

A pic of the headset area attachment would be awesome if you get a moment. I'll go off and do some measuring..

If it's as good as the LOCT you're going to love it. And be amazed by what you can ride with it - I did the Chavannes downhill in Les Gets with a four year old on board last summer.

Headset spacer is 10mm, clamp is also 10mm. As I said, I've had to fit an extra 5mm spacer above it because my stem is so short it fouls. I might be able to get round that by clamping at 90deg and then rotating. I'll have another play tomorrow.

Ironically, I sold a LOCT seat to fund the Mac-Ride as I didn't like the clamping mechanism of the LOCT and preferred the concept of the headset spacer and QR clamp that the Mac-ride uses.

I would agree, the LOCT clamping / installation and removal method was one place it could have been improved.

Also I snapped a rubber foot strap once. Luckily I had spares.

anyone else get the email this morning.

its unsafe, throw in the bin and we'll send another one next year....

some credit to them for offering a refund though which I've taken up, my boy will be nearly 6 by next summer and way to big for it.

Got the e-mail and do feel a bit sorry for them to be honest. Sounds like they haven't had a lot of luck in China (and probably underestimated the difficulties of dealing with remote production etc).

Sweajnr is only 2.5 so I think I'm going to wait for the second iteration. He loves the current one and I'll probably keep using it for now as he isn't all that heavy yet.

Was it me that bought the LOCT from you, jam bo? Mini Pierre had a lot of fun on it in Morzine and Les Gets this summer, but like you say the clamping was not great - it required some pretty ghetto extra drilling, bolting and jubilee clips to make it feel secure, and I ended up wrapping an old inner tube round the downtube and zip-tieing the leg arms (leg legs?) above and below the tube to keep it all in place. But, like igm, taking a not-quite-four-year-old on uplifts and down Chavannes was a blast!

Not quite sure how to include an image from Instagram, but:

I wish the Mac Ride guys luck, it can't be easy making something that sturdy without it being really ugly. But it's definitely a product that needs making.

Probably was me.

I wish them luck too but not enough to keep backing them. June 2017 would be nearly three years after handing over a fairly significant chunk of cash and given form to date, I've not much confidence they'll hit that date.
