Got play on an older set of M959 pedals.

Have had 2 pairs for years with No issues. Now one pedal has some play! which ain't bad considering.

Can I easily replace the bearings or is it 'too the bin' for them?

At least have them apart to see what the axle looks like. They are pretty simple in there. They are ver probably fixable.

Cheers MisterP. Thats what I've been after.

Do I need any 'special shimano' tools, as is the case with most shimano?

I'm not very handy at maintenance. How easy to remove spindle?

will need a cone setting tool (although this can be bodged the jobs much easier with) for the pedal but everything else is standard tools

The price of the pedal tool seems to have more than doubled ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
But it does make the job easier.

I think UK Bike Store stock all shimano replacements.

I'll be trying them tomorrow.

I very much doubt they'll need new bearings, just a bit of adjustment and a some fresh grease.
