Anyone else found this?

My prev gen SLX all got replaced under the 2 yr warranty (thanks Merlin and CRC!).

But I got these new M666 ones as replacements (with finned pads) and god almighty - they are LOUD in the damp.

Anyone else? Any recommendations as to what normal pads could I swap to?

I just use Superstar pads in mine and so far they've been really good. Dirt cheap too. Not finned, but I'm not really going to cook my brakes in the Surrey Hills.

Have you tried putting a bit of copper slip in the back of the pads? That sometimes helps.

Having said that I had this with one of my M666's and that did'nt work. In desperation I took the pads out, put them in boiling water for 20mins and then in the oven for 20min (150deg). It seemed to fix the issue, so presume it was contamination.

It's nothing to do with the pads. I've used these brakes for 10 months (with Hope rotors) with no issues like the one you're describing.

Sounds like contamination to me. There is a known problem with the crimped-on banjo fitting at the caliper which can leak. One of mine did so as did a mate's XTR ones.
