I wasn't paying attention at the time but I can remember these forks having issues when they first came out. Were the problems fixed/fixable? Was there a year after which they were ok from the factory?

IIRC it was the 08 and 09 ones that had the issue. RS would replace the internals with 2010 as a warranty repair. Parts were about £100.
I think they're superseded by Dual Position Air, which is much simpler (no oil, no floating piston), and therefore more reliable.
