Do any of guys use finish line dry lube, or something similar? Just wondered as I have always used WD40 and wondered if i would benefit from some 'proper' lube. If so what's the best stuff to get?
Thanks

I see they have put a new lid on it! That was my main grumble about mine. The old style is like the cap on 3 in 1 oil which is why mine no longer travels with me (oil in the boot of your car is not much fun) briliant for the shed though.
I have started using finish line, but still evaluating. I have heard that WD40 is a big no no though. And spray lubes are not much use at getting lubrication where it is needed.
GT85 or WD40 christ it's a cycle chain
Chainsaw oil.
Rock n roll extreme here. Top stuff
how does that stuff compare to finishline wet or Rock n Roll extreme?
Another vote for rock n roll extreme, great stuff.
Squirt or Muc Off Wet Lube for me
Too many to choose from ๐
green oil is utter utter shyte. dries out and just gunks up the chain, even on the road bike. got a freebie bottle and gave up on it.
squirt, but requires some prep. initially and treating well before each ride. So, not for those who like to sort stuff out just before a ride.
Purple extreme ...end of. Expensive, but best lube money can buy. Good for 24hr races to beachriding & everything in-between....
Squirt

A new experiment here, but so far very happy. I ride every day to work or for enjoyment so am really enjoying the benefits (if used properly). Apparently the benefits are limited if used incorrectly.

Tried many and have settled on Pedros Synth for the peaty/gritty conditions here.
Chain-L no5 is so much better than the others mentioned as it's good for wet or dry riding and makes your chain super quiet and smooth , but does need care when applying
Performance-wise, Chain-L is entirely superior to anything I have ever used. Although it cleans off very, very easily with solvents, I found it to be just too much of a pain in the arse to apply. Like all lubes, it works best when applied to a totally clean, bone-dry chain. It's very thick at room temp (less viscous after the bottle is submerged in warm water) and so takes a while to wick into the rollers (the only part that actually needs lubricating). Because wicking is so slow, it's easiest to just lather loads of lube over the chain and let it sit, unlike something like ProLink which barely thicker than the white spirit carrier.
I now prefer to use ProLink because, although it doesn't last very long, it leaves minimal residue to collect/deposit on the rest of the drivetrain and can be easily/cleanly applied without always having to remove and/or clean the chain. One drop to each link; wipe the residue; and leave overnight: done.
