[#6869316]

keep finding myself looking at a new bike from a certain brand I swore I would never buy from.

I fear I will need a huge jug of custard and a large spoon if I commit.

😀

Specialized or Trek, perhaps. That Camber Carbon Evo looks tasty...

It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done.

That's what I told myself when I ordered my Evil.

Ok. It's ugly, heavy and it'll ride like a donkey. It's also too expensive for what it is.

Buy a Canyon or a YT

Bleurrrrrgh!!

Dont do it.
It would be like waking up next to a really fat ugly minger the morning after..
Every single time you took it out for a ride. Plus people will point, laugh and stare.

Crap heavy wheels, crap fork, crap raceface cranks, crap Conti tyres. Plenty of better value bikes out there that won't need half the parts replaced.

That's an ugly bastard (the orange).
Much as I hate to admit it, the Spesh Enduro is probably the best "big" 29er.

Expensive, old fashioned, will clang and rattle like an old tiling cabinet, and your not Welsh, or a sponsored rail builder - try the on one, the quarter horse, the Santa Cruz etc etc

The spesh enduro is quite a lot of travel, the camber evo is probably more equivalent to the five (and better).

And why the ****, when he is looking at a full suss are some recommending a hardtail?

Serious question, what is wrong with the Trail Kings?

Couldn't you just buy a 5 year old one and have it painted? Have they changed the design in any meaningful way since Mosses crossed the Red Sea on one?

Gotta laugh at a camber being better than a five lol. A five is like a fat girl who gives the best bj you'll ever have. nuf said.

If you fancy a burly 29er, you really can do a lot better than that girder with wheels on – and for a better price. Kona or Transition could sort you out nicely. Or a Spesh Ebduro.

I dunno man, I'm not really an Orange fan but the Five 29 is a bloomin brilliant bike. It's only money that stopped me buying one. Better than the Covert imo. Pretty much level pegging with the Remedy, different strengths. Haven't ridden the enduro though.
