[Closed] Low profile, aggressive rear 29er tyre

Recently switched the extremely heavy stock wheelset from my Commencal Meta AM1 29er to a much lighter Crossmax ST and WTB Vigilante (2.3 tubeless) combo. The combo has been great, grip/weight/stiffness wise.

However, the rear tyre rubs an excessive amount on the seat tube, so I'm looking for a replacement rear tyre that has a lower profile. My riding style is slightly more aggressive, so I need something that can take a fair beating. I didn't have this problem with the stock kenda nevegal.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Kenda Nevegal?

Only kidding. You'll need something lower volume. Or trim the centre knobs and hg#eli tape your seat tube.

Ha. I'm not going to give the stock kenda nevegals any bad reviews, as I wore them to the bone and they held out for me, even if they did weigh a tonne.

I have brought some carbon sheeting to stick over the wear patch, just to give some protection, but would prefer to also fix the root cause of the issue.

Does low volume always equal lower profile? Looking at some <2.3 tyres, they still hold a fair amount of height. I seem to ok with fat, just not tall.

Id have thought high volume would generally mean high height.

mtbtires.com has widths and heights.

That's strange on my AM 29'er a big tyre rubs on the inside of the swing arm before it get beat the seat tube. The drive side it a bit tighter then the non drive side.

Biggest I've managed is a 2.2 icon on the rear and that's close.

Fancy taking some pictures of the clearance? I will do the same when I'm home?

The mtbtires.com site is incredibly useful; it lists the axel to outer tread measurement. Unfortunately it doesn't have the WTB Vigilante, and I'm not at home to measure. Interestingly the Nevegal isn't exactly low profile, it's more of a mid-range in height - so the Vigilante must be at the top end.

I will get some pictures of the clearance mssansserif. The swing arm clearance is very tight on a 2.3 - I couldn't go any bigger.
