🙄
Yeah, exactly!
Scapin Fybra maybe, something in the way of a classy marathon hardtail anyway.
Surly Big Dummy only more so, rohloff'ed, schmidt dyno-hubbed and re-painted, probably high gloss navy blue.
Condor Gran Fondo
Something hilarious and suspension-ish. Maybe an Orange ST4.
But I'd prefer to spend money on event entries, hotels and air-fares rather than bikes really.

Okay. In no particular order:
Cotic Soda, DT 130mm forks, XTR drivetrain, Hope superlight minis, Easton, Stans/Am Classic wheels from JRA
Kona Heihei just like the one I have apart from maybe a DT100mm fork insead of 80. Or actually more like both so I can swap around.
Patriot just like mine but with XTR and some more lightweight stuff.
Orange 5 with XTR, Stans Arch on Hope, MAgura Thors, USE Ti seatpost, Easton etc.
Kona Four maybe
Scott Scale with the most super super light bling. Soul Kozak hubs, the works, tipping the scales at sub 19lbs.
Full DH bike
Something like the Patriot (maybe another one) but kitted out with coil forks and shock, and slighly beefier stuff

A Merlin XLM- Lightweight XC build.
A Colnago raod bike with Campag groupset
TI456 blinged right up with XTR.
I'd have me the following:
- A nice Ti framed HT with about 100-120mm of RS sprung Black box controlled forks, full Raceface Deus XC finishing kit & cranks etc, Hope Blingy DT rims on Hope Hubs, X0 shifters etc and some really nice brakes.
- A SC Heckler, built strong but light, a white frame, black fork, black swing arm and white DT rims on Hopes, again Race face Deus AM gear and X0 stuff.
- Keep my other two bikes the Handjob and the Pitch and probably upgrade to X0 bits and put better wheels on the Handjob and thats about it

My original geometry P7
Most of the Klein Range
And I'm sure there are more!
Intense Slopestyle with Cane Creek DB shock and Rockshox Lyrik coils, full XTR etc.
Brooklyn Machine Works SR6, similar setup to above, full Saint kit, mainly just for posing on though!
Maverick Durance with DUC36's (when they get released!), full XTR, lightweight "all day XC bike" build.
Indy Fab Steel Deluxe built around a 120-130mm travel fork, customised (read lighter weight) Shimano Alfine hub, Maverick SC32's, PIMP paint job, get used as the "winter" bike.
Custom (built by me on a Dave Yates frame building course probably, if I could get a place!) 853 hardnut hardtail, geometry based pretty much on a Cotic BFe, but slightly slimmer/more forgiving stays, Fox 36RC2 Talas, Strong but reasonably light kit, Saint cranks/brakes/mech etc. EVERYTHING finished in jet black, this would be monikered as the "Stealth Bomber"
Litespeed Ghisallo Road bike, full 10spd Dura Ace, Dressed in ANYTHING suitably ridiculously expensive from the Posh Bikes store. Probably about 12lb all up!
Indy Fab Beatstick jump/4X bike, Rockshox Pike, Saint/XTR 1x9 setup with lightweight CF chain device etc.
Nicolai ION ST, New 2010 Rockshox Boxxer Teams, full Saint kit including brakes, Cane Creek DB shock, full on DH race setup.
Indy Fab Steel Planet Cross CX bike (to see what the fuss is about, and for quick trips to the shop etc.)
And probably a few more, though my imagination is exhausted right now!

Custom 4" full susser made by ornage to my design, probably like a 5 but with less travel for trail centers, Foes shock, magura forks,
Willer road bike
Giant Reign X
no hardtails in that list, because i'd learn to braze and build my own, exactly like my current DMR, but with half an 20m off the BB (its already lo eough, but you can never be too low), 20mm on the top tube, a degree off the head angle. Probably steal the tubeset and back end off a 456ti.

As far as one upping the UniCat, the MultiMog takes it.
I have been daydreaming about one since seeing it in at MoMA in 2002.
What was Hanebrink thinking of when he put rigid forks on that thing?

Some people put way too much trust in expensive kit. In absolute truth, I would be perfectly happy with my mountain bikes almost as I have them now. I;d upgrade to a **** off lightweight road bike but for the rest it'd be almost static. As we go....
Chameleon singlespeed, high tech componentry but it'd be a standard chameleon, the most fun singlespeed bike available ever.
Cove handjob. Again, i'd have the componentry upgraded from what I run myself but the frame is wonderful.
A really nice fixed roadbike. Something that weighs nothing at frigging all.
A roadbike that costs the earth. This would be made out of carbon that had been rolled white hot across small chidren from belgium to form it's shape, it would have titanium fixings that were made for tour de france riders, the wheels would have been generated by mental karma issuing from 130 year old korabai monks who had been meditating purely on my wheels for 30 years before dropping dead the instant they were created..... and I'd rag it like I stole it.
An inbred. old geometry. 853. cheap forks. a tad heavy but find some singletrack and heave it through. I'd pay thousands for a bike that was as quick through twisty singletrack as my 853 inbred was.
DH Race bike: Iron Horse Sunday with an obscene light part list with xc wheels etc. Bos forks/shock etc. Under 35lbs.
Normal bike: Nicolai ION gbox bike with all the trimmings, however I'd run good old 888s as they're reliable as anything.
Turner 5 spot with coil lyriks, old 952 xtr kit NOS.
4x race bike built around a Scott carbon xc frame and silly light parts. Rebas etc. Under 20lbs.
Custom made 853 jump frame with pikes.
Santa Cruz Bluc XC Carbon
Whyte Ti HT
Orange P7 One (Fully rigid)
IF SSR
& a Chopper!
Already have my 5 bikes, don't need to swap them.. but would whack out some lottery winnings on a pimped garage and Sportsmobike van 😉
I'd really only like more time to ride the bikes I've got, but if you twisted my arm I'd go for a Whyte 19 carbon (then I'd have a full set) and maybe an E120 superbike.
lol@ samuri. I think your carbon dreams are almost true if you read Tony Elsworth's comments about euro carbon road bikes.
@solamander; See Sam Hill? Hes your boyfriend he is.
@solamander; See Sam Hill? Hes your boyfriend he is.
Not quite. I hate the whole Sam Hill wannabe thing, that was till I rode a sunday. I've ridden most of the top DH bikes (proper dh runs not car park testing). The Sunday is a stunning dh race bike, far nicer than the intense offerings.
Hmm...
1. keep my Yeti 575. Maybe get new wheels and a bolt-through fork.
2. Crossmax wheels for my Handjob
3. A mint mk1 Heckler or Superlight
4. Trek Session 88
5. Cannondale Taurine SL Team
Roadbike with the change. Something black and stealthy and not like those vile euro abominations posted by alwyn!

That new £7k Scott Genius Carbon
Merlin Ti Road Bike
Merlin Ti Hardtail
SWorks M2 and GT Zaskar from the early 90's
DeKerf Ti Implant
Kone Hei Hei - mid 90's so one of the proper ti ones.
Santa Cruz Nomad
Big Plasma TV, blue ray player and surround sound and some nice units and flooring to fulfill my workshop dreams.
That's probably about it but there may be more.
@flamejob - have you ridden a AMP B5? They were CRAP!
Yeah maybe a wee bit noodley, but it's like owning a *thinks of car equivalent, Sierra Cosworth. Its the grandaddy of the FSR/Horst link
Being a bit more sensible about it - rather than simply buying bling, I'd like to increase what I could do on a bike. For example, I fancy a track bike, then I could go for a jump bike and a BMX.. to allow me to try new kinds of riding.
On the subject of workshops tho - I'd have a huge workshop and storage, and I'd employ a bike-stablehand to clean and maintain the fleet. I'd just call down and say "Watson, I think I'll take the Patriot out today, make sure it's ready. I think the brakes were a little off last time I rode it, would you be so good as to bleed them and fit new pads? Also I'll have the Mountain King 2.4s too."
Indy Fab ti deluxe.

On-one Scandal (mine :))

A nice Kona COiler
Parlee or Crumpton SL carbon roadie (Campy Super Record and Lightweight Ventoux's of course)

Nicolai Helius CC or Ventana El Salty for FS duties
See you only need 4 !
@mboy- "Custom (built by me on a Dave Yates frame building course probably, if I could get a place!) 853 hardnut hardtail," that's what i ride! finished in metalflake black with vanilla32s saint cranks, hope brakes and hubs, en521s, xtr, thomson, all in black!! and if you can get a place go on the course! I wanna go again, even if you don't get much change from a grand!
Orange Five - Bling out my current five - bread and butter bike, I know it works. Fancy a tracer but meh...
Lynsky M230 - Fancy a bit of Ti...
Cotic Single - Got to have a bit of niche content in there.
Orange Blood - dunno, just looks like it'd be real fun to ride the tits off it!
Orange 224 - if had the omey I'd be gving DHing a go and I'd probably lack the imagination to go beyond the old halifax faithful.
If I'm honest though, I really wouldn't stop at five bikes and there would be some serious doubling up in terms of purpose too.
Lottery Bike Garage - Whats in yours?
you sad lot
in my bike HANGAR would be a selection of hundreds of bikes that i bought on the internet on a whim, dwarves with trays of cocaine and bikini clad birds
when you are rich details are unimportant.
I'd keep my Soda - possibly do a bit of a respec.
Then:-
Jones 3D spaceframe SS thingy
Turner DW 5-spot
Turner DW DHR
Ti Beefy hardtail with Lyrics/Fox 36s on (Cotic Bfe or Dialled Apline kinda thing, but in Ti). Or maybe one of those Commencal Atherton Ti 4x bikes.
Litespeed Archon with full SuperRecord and Ligtweights
Condor Percorso Ti fixie
A nice 953 audax/winter road bike with mudguards on for when it's reet shitty out.
Hmmm. I do like my Ti, me...
Not too sure. Bling up the current stable a little, add in some sort of park use thing (Commencal Furious perhaps), a road bike and that'd do me. I'd need a new house to get them all in tho as I can't see Mrs Atlaz going for me filling up with any more bikes.
Assuming I was a man of leisure after that, the big expense would be trips to places to ride. That truck would seem to fit the bill for European stuff.
I'd certainly fancy something in the titanium hardtail line but after looking at the 29er thread I reckon a Niner Sir9 with matching 853 rigid fork would be a dream.
For HairyChested, if you like tricycles have you seen this by Lynskey?
I need more time, not new bikes
If you won the lottery, you'd have plenty of time on your hands *aslong as it was a sufficient # £mil....)

PICTURES, I NEED TO SEE PICTURES! 😛
Mamadirt, why the 6.6 over the Slopestyle? Would've thought the Slopestyle more your thing, certainly it's DEFINITELY very "my thing"... In fact, once I've sorted my finances out when my new job starts, and I'm significantly out of my overdraft, may have to look into buying an SS!
IF Tungsten Electrode
Merlin/Seven/Moots custom Ti HT modeled on my DMR Switchback with 140mm forks
Turner DW RFX
Colnago roadie. Lugged steel. Or maybe a Bob Jackson.
Steelman CX bike
GT Dynoglide Deluxe or 3. Got one already.
BMX of some description.
A museum full of retro classics
@knottie - brilliant idea!
I'll have a seven sola singlespeed please. and a parlee roadbike.
i'd get dave turner to make me a custom dw link tandem.
and thinking about it, to go with the lightweight sola ss i'd ask lynskey to make me a ti 456 singlespeed for big forks.
oh, and a nice steel cross bike.
Langster.
De Kerf - Team SST
Tomac - Carbide
A tandem of some sort for mrs and any roadbike that took my fancy.

That's impressive mate, I really like that. Can I ask what the geometry is though, the head angle does look a tad steeper than I'd probably run myself, though of course it may just be perspective from the photos.
VERY well finished though BTW, and I like the colour a lot.
3 italians, 4 Brits, but sod pedalling them for a lark! -

A 916SPS for good measure

And I'd keep my little Monster 696 for general tooling around on.
It's wonderful.

And now the Brits -

And my little Monster 696. It's wonderful.
Hey mboy....
The head angle is a touch steep bout 71.. i was intending to run slightly longer forks than i am doing which has affected both head angle and bb height, it still rides well though but i'd go about 2 degrees slacker next time, there's always something though when you build your first, which brings me back to wanting to do another....
Firstly a full Park workshop set-up, a nice Bose sound system and a minibar. Then a few custom ti bikes by Moots or IF, a 953 Brian Rourke and probably a few more from builders who show those gorgeous frames the handbuilt show. A Jones and a Sachs road frame would arrive a year or so later :), then one of 18's frames when they get going.. OTP bikes would prob be a Five, or maybe an ST4, a Supreme for chairlift holidays and a little Chameleon for summer evenings. Just because they would all be / do what i wanted and all be totally different, a bike for every kind of ride and all the spares to chop and change as required.
then i'd buy a jig, mitre cutters and brazing gear and start experimenting.. the best daydream post ever, cheers )
oh and a basic 531 frame converted to SS for a spares project.
Those are some lovely motorbikes above too...but that's a very slippery slope )
PP, nice choices. Know someone with a Desmosedici already though, have had a sit on it... VERY nice.
My old housemate used to have a 916SP3 with quite a few Ducati Corse mods on it, including an ex BSB engine.
Have a 96 748SP in the shed myself, needs a bit of TLC as it hasn't been on the road in a couple of years due to financial reasons, but hoping it'll be back up and running soon. Not THAT much slower than a 916SP either, only about 15bhp in it.
sam42. That's exactly what I was thinking mate. I'm no expert on geometry, but would be thinking something like 68.5-69 degrees with a 140mm fork on my build if I did it, or 67-67.5 with something like a Lyric or a Fox 36. Hmmmmm... Oh to have some money to go on the course!
mboy - Member
Mamadirt, why the 6.6 over the Slopestyle? Would've thought the Slopestyle more your thing, certainly it's DEFINITELY very "my thing"... In fact, once I've sorted my finances out when my new job starts, and I'm significantly out of my overdraft, may have to look into buying an SS!
Well it's has taken me an age to whittle my collection down to just the one - it'll have to take me to work and be capable of x/c and d/h (like my Tazer). I've had ridden both albeit briefly (mate has a Slopestyle - love it!) and if it was a question of having more than one then yes, definitely, but I'm quite enjoying never being on the wrong bike at the mo' so I reckon the 6.6 with DHX air shock would fit the bill as an only bike pretty well. The way Intense are bringing out new models at the mo' I reckon it's gotta be only a matter of time before 6.6 frame prices drop (I've been watching the S/S prices though and they just seem to get more expensive every time I look).
mmmmm
id have -
A scott scale, with full xtr, pacelt edition race forks etc .
A custom built Titanium hardtail frame, 120mm fox forks, full xtr, crossmaxs etc...
The new top of the range trek fuel EX.
A nicolai Helius Am with fox 36's na da strong, but light build...
A Turner Dhr with a pure race build.
Thats 5, but i'd also like :
A turner 5 spot,
A santa chruz chameleon with pikes etc,
And an epic carbon.
Oh and a pimpy carbon road bike, and a cyclocross bike.
oops, i forgot a curtis racelight 26,
umm i could go on all night...
