I had a tinging sound from the rear wheel, also a judder under hard rear wheel braking. So pinged all the spokes to see if any were lose. Two adjacent ones on the non-drive side were loose, one very lose. Tightened them both up till they felt (sounded) like all the others.

Job done, or so I thought. Did 3 hours on them yesterday. Started off fine, the original tinging and braking issues gone. But by the end of the ride both were back. Didn't have time to recheck, but reckon they would probably be loose again.

Should I just whip it off to a LBS for a tweak? How much is that likely to set me back? Do spokes just become lose for not apparent reason?

Cheers in advance.

Sounds like the whole wheel needs re-tensioned, they should not come loose.

It's no good just tighenting them up. You need to check the wheel is true at the same time. There's a lot of people on here who could do it for you very quickly (Myself included) and it's not a hard skill to learn. I'll bet you've got a mate that can sort it properly and show you how it's done if you buy them a pint. ๐Ÿ™‚
