[Closed] lock on grips on carbon bars?

is it not suppose to be done? the bolts are not done up tight by any stretch.......somebody mentioned that you are not suppose to run lock ons on carbon bars though and i really dont wish to damage them...

have i got to back to shitty non lock on grips ๐Ÿ™

I'm using lock ons with carbon bars, no problem yet. *fingers crossed*

I've had no problems here either and the bars and lock on grips were ragged and crashed in the Alps last year.

my bike [ orange 5 ] came with lock ons on monkey -lite carbon bars when i bought it . have run them for 18 months with no problems so far

Likewise, Have been running ODI lock ons on Ritchey Carbon bars.. no issues in the 18 months they've been on. Removed the grips recently and the bart itself is still as new

You shouldn't really, they are infinitely more likely to shatter like glass if you do and I bet that would be a bit of a problem.
Techincally speaking (and this is an industry secret - well it was until I hit the Send Post >> button), you're not supposed to clamp brakes, shifters or stems to carbon bars but as so many of these itmes have been made in advance, they're not saying anything until they've all been bought used and worn out and then they will announce it and start selling the special glue for clamping things to carbon bars that I've developed.
