Aside from Mondraker, who else built 26" FS frames with more modern geometry?

The first Cotic Rocket was 26" and pretty LLS for the time.

My Commencal Meta Hip Hop has a 66 degree head angle and low BB - not particularly long but mine's a dinky one.

Geometry chart here:

If its for a build rather than an academic question then you can put 26" wheels and forks on a 27.5" frame. If its super low you might get a few more pedal strikes, so go with something a bit higher and it will become a little lower but there's really not much in it.

Thanks.
Son had a ride on my Aeris and liked it, wondering whether there might be something around that would let me just replace his frame rather than the whole build.

How tall is your son? Stick 26” wheels and fork on a 27.5” frame designed for 10mm less fork travel and you get the same geometry apart from the BB being 12.5mm lower. Unless he’s over 6’ tall with long legs then 165mm cranks will regain the pedal clearance with no downsides.

How about looking for a 2014 Orange Alpine?  65 degrees and potential I think for a slackset.

I've got a 2016 Cube Stereo 140 HPA frame (well, it's a Sting rather than Stereo) that I used 26" in if you're interested. The HA's 68° but it can take a slackset.

Looking at bikes with compact frames, like Cotic frinstance tend to be, means you can usually go up a size or two and add a load of length that way (I ride an old XL frame despite being 5'10, it fits me well and gives me about an extra 50mm of reach and wheelbase over the medium that I "should" be riding) Head angle is easy as long as it's got a headset that can take an angle adjuster.

Orbea maybe?

I have a 2013 Orange alpine and that probably fits the bill. 65 degree h/a, long for the year it was released and I wouldn’t want it any lower as pedal strikes can be an issue. Versatile and bombproof.

Banshee spitfire and rune both could run dropouts for 27.5 and 26" wheels.

No idea if you can still buy the dropouts new, some of the frames I've seen for sale come with both

I've been tempted frequently but never gone for one.

V3 Banshee Spitfire or Rune are bang up to date. Choose long or short, 142 or 148 dropouts when you order. They're the same as the V2.5 dropouts - 2 position not 3.
I had a V2.5 Spitfire with a 27.5 fork & 26 inch wheels. It was too low in the low position, even with 170mm cranks. The V3 Rune is heaps better.

Cotic did a 26" BFe with LLS - but I guess you'll have trouble finding a secondhand one

If its for a build rather than an academic question then you can put 26″ wheels and forks on a 27.5″ frame.

Exactly the actually diameter difference isn't 1.5" its 1" due to the rims being 559 and 584mm so only 12.5 mm radius difference.

@BearBack

@kayla1 what size? 13.5″

It's an 18" nominally but it's only a 16" really- Cube sizes their bikes really weirdly. 420mm reach. Pic here, with 26" wheels in-
