Did the jump and drops course at llandegla yesterday, and was wondering if any of the other blokes that were on the course lurk on here.
If so, was your mate ok after his crash on the skills area drops?
Saw an ambulance heading that way as I was leaving at 2:30, hope it wasn't serious.
What was the course like? Now that Llandegla has a lot more jumping potential I've been thinking of doing the course myself.
That would have been for him. He walked into the ambulance so I think he was mostly OK. He went off the second of the big drops and landed a bit off course and crashed into the banking.
Course was pretty good, just need to put into practise what we learnt. It didn't tell me anything I hadn't read elsewhere, but having someone watch what your doing wrong (and show you on video) was pretty helpful.
Was this the Neil Donohue one or O.P.A's own?
It was Neil donoghues course.
How much was that ?
105 for the full day including lunch, drinks, cake etc, and video footage
So, was it worth it?
Are you now rad to the power of sik and able to jump like a good un' and shred the Gnar?
IMO it was worth it, obviously there's no magic bullet to turn you into a 30 foot gap jumping hero, but taking everything back to basics and working on technique is worthwhile.
A few months ago we had a play on the skills area at Llandegla and we did the drops, but I wasn't confident enough to do the biggest 3 because they're not rollable, ie get it wrong and your going to land on your head, but as part of the course we did these drops and I was fine. Theyre actually no different to do than the smaller ones, you just need to have the right technique, as theyre not rollable.
The pump track was good, that's definately a skill that will help in all areas of biking, just need to practice it.
I also cleared a couple of small doubles, which I hadn't tried before.
