Like a Ragley Pigle...

[Closed] Like a Ragley Piglet, but not a piglet??

With the recent demise of my Grapil due to broken chainstay I fancy building a slack long travel 26" hardtail with the many newish bits I had on the FS frame. The closest I can find to my needs would be a Ragley PIglet or Blue pig from 2014. Unfortunately they are no longer made and I suspect the 2015 version will be 650b.

So what is on my must have list.

Forks of around 150mm and HA of around 67 degrees
Must have Standard 44mm headtube
Must be 73mm BSA Bottom bracket
Must have a 31.6 Seat tube

Be nice if it had 142/12 rear but I have yet to find a HT with this.

And if anyone has something of interest then it needs to be a Large ๐Ÿ™‚

Over to you guys....

PS Before anyone points me to the one For Sale on Pinkbike, the seller refuses to post to me so that is out ๐Ÿ™

Steel or aluminium?

Ragley Marley springs to mind, only because my son has one and I know the specs ๐Ÿ™‚

NS Eccentric ticks all your boxes, even the 142x12 back end.

Either I guess. The Marley is just an ali Piglet from what I can make out. But none about to buy anyway.

I appreciate I am probably looking for second hand, just wondered if there are any other options, other than the Ragley bikes, that meet my spec, in order to widen my search a bit.

Except it is 650b. And has a 30.9 seatpost..

they do have the 26" version in CRC but my almost new reverb won't fit ๐Ÿ™

Sorry, didn't spot the seatpost! They say it can run either 26 or 650b but I guess one or the other would be a compromise... You might struggle with 31.6mm on a steel hardtail as most people want the comfort of a skinnier post.

Ignore that, what about a Stanton Slackline? No 142x12 but everything else I think?

Bingo on the Slackline ๐Ÿ™‚

But no large in stock for 3 months ๐Ÿ™

And it appears the BFe also fits the bill ๐Ÿ™‚

Both added to my used frame search

One of my mates built a dialed alpine running 160-170 forks and loves it.

Dialed Alpine appears to have 27.2mm seat post ๐Ÿ™

Pace 305 or RC325.5 might fit the bill but they appear to have disappeared from the radar?

First off though I am going to look to get my Grapil repaired. If a robot in Taiwan can't do a decent weld, I am hoping I can find a skilled bloke over here who can. PLus get them to add some extra gussets to stop it breaking in future.

I very much doubt a robot has been anywhere near that frame, it'll have been a skilled Taiwanese welder, most probably with incorrect welding instructions

The Fire Eye Hot Tail is being thrown out at CRC for 199, have no idea about the quality of these frames (QR Drop outs though) but it's another option none the less.

Hmmm, now that fire eye looks the ticket. Worth a punt at that price too. Cheers for the heads up

I just put a 120mm fork on my enigma. The sale of it looks like fun

That is all.

If your looking at a BFe could always think about a Soul?
