Any suggestions?

These two qualities may not be particularly compatible but there must be a decent compromise.

Certainly looks to be the best option, gloss or matte seems to be the next choice though.

Gloss would look nice but probably won't age well?

Jones Unicrown is very comfy, but not super light. Also have a Whisky no9 MTN boost Lt. very light but not as comfy.

inwould take the extra weight jus for the comfort.

I'm really impressed with my new trek 1120 fork. Carbon fork, Ali steerer so normal star nut, not a fork bung. Loads of rack mounts.

It replaced a genesis tarn fork. Feels exactly the same but it's got a 29er 2.6 tyre, good bars and ergon grips so not sure i can feel much difference between good quality carbon forks.

Weighs 830 grams, only 20g more than the tarn fork. The rack however that fits it is 450g.

My friends airwolf fork on the other hand beats the sh.t out of him. He's slow down hill and then needs to recover. He doesn't like it at all. Regrets not spending more money. His is on a 650b wheel though.

2nd the Pathfinder. Has lots of mounting points as well. Alpkit do seem to have them intermittently though. I contacted them when I was looking and was able to order from the next batch. Just looked at the link, that's a lot more than I paid?

Not a clue about the weight, but the stooge biplane fork is nice and springy and comfortable

I've already spoken to Andy about a biplane as ive got one on my dirtbomb and its hands down the comfiest fork I've used.

However he only has the straight blade forks and they're about 40mm too short.

I may try fitting the bi plane from my stooge to my face bike and see how it fares though.

Pathfinder is something I hadn't been aware of and certainly looks like a good option but I'd be worried it was just an open mould Chinese fork? Anybody know?

Probably is but it seems to have survived my cack-handed riding style for the last year. It doesn't have "enve" or "whisky" written on it though so that's why it costs £500 less

Most carbon stuff is made in China. Most of it is good. Alpkit will ensure that the product is good. They will also warranty it and do a product recall should they have any doubts about it's safety and should anything happen they have insurance. Can you say the same about other "open mould Chinese forks"?

There's also the px carbon fork for £200 but wait for a sale.

They do have the same fork with eyelets but they don't advertise it and you have to email them to ask for a price and availability.

Sometimes a genesis tarn fork comes up for sale on ebay, they are either aluminium or carbon.

Lauf grit. Not cheap but it’s very comfy.
