I've always enjoyed my Orange Evo2 but at 11 years old it's a bit the worse for wear. Anyone want to venture an opinion on either the G series frames or the Elite as a possible replacement? Or are there better frames out there for the money that'll offer another decade's great happiness?

I'm sure the G series / Elite will be perfectly competent, but yeah, plenty of others to choose from - are you doing a full transplant from the Evo? What fork do you have - at that age, I'm guessing 100mm?

I recently swapped from an Evo4 to a Ti456 (with 130mm fork). As much as I thought the Evo4 was great, the 456 really is on another level. So, would certainly recommend the 456, but you might need a longer fork. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just been on my Gringo (with its slicks for new role fitted today)

I think things have moved on so if you can look at alternatives

Well, the Soul needs a longer fork - I'm happy riding a hardtail with 100 - 120 mm - got the full suss for trail centres - and yeh, I'm planning to transfer everything off the Orange (only the frame left of the original!)
As well as the Orange I'm thinking of maybe a Merlin, a Kenesis or ...(fill in your suggestions here!)

120mm is the "sweet spot" for the Soul, I'm told. I preferred it at 140 msyelf.
