Flicking though the pictures on pink bike and the like it got me thinking, what about the everyday hero. We see so many impressive photos of impressive skills it is only natural we trying to emulate such daring feats. You know the scene,

"massive" drop/jump
big trick planned
cameraman at the ready
butterflys in stomach
off you go, heart in mouth...
this feels big, such style!
You survived, its got to look good-you can't wait to show the kids on pinkbike.

But then the photo is reveled...

It looks pathetic, you look a right bellend!

But you had fun- so lets celebrate those rad photos ๐Ÿ˜€

(Extra marks for the gurning)

There are probably only about 3 photos of my riding in existance as I'm quite camera shy.

This shyness doesn't come from anything other than the fact that I don't want to see photographic evidence that what felt in the first-person like some mad Vouilloz action actually appears to the third-person like a shortarse hairy northerner bimbling down a bridleway.

I ride like Peat and Gracia and Nico - as long as nobody's looking and can prove otherwise.

Well I do feel I this helps put Elbry to shame - lost plenty of traction as I go out of camera shot but you will be pleased to know I made it down in one piece, and yeah, don't look at the two dabs at the start ay ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Things kinda went a bit wrong on this one after getting some air over a jump and then trying to clip the apex of a corner only to find no apex was there.

Cue rather large impact with slab of granite leaving a big ass purple bruise on my shoulder, a now slightly mis-shaped collar bone and some scratching of the bike/forks/knee/helmet/hand.

Oh yeah and my mate near $h!tting himself as I flew past him and my bike towards him at some speed ๐Ÿ˜†

[img] [/img]

This one is my mate getting it a little bit wrong on Cli-machx. (I'm the cameraman in this case - wrong mode on the camera though)

Me getting "rad" air out of a bomb hole ๐Ÿ˜†

One of the guides at Bike Verbier shows off his skill and bike control. ๐Ÿ˜‰
To be fair it's actually a VERY steep descent but obviously the camera flattens it out. He's also a very good rider, on that occasion he hit something hidden under the fern cover. That was his excuse anyway...

Swinley, PeterPoddy went with the "jumpy" group to take photos. I went with the jumpy group cos all the other groups had left.

Which one is me?

photo of mr Soul on here, it lands around 10ft down in the bottom of a bomb hole which then launches into a step up... only ever did the step up, the thought of over cooking that jump is just nasty! took around 9 tries to get any half decent piccies. Sadly all gone, was at still woods ๐Ÿ™

Some top examples of rad skillz guys!

steve_b77 Respect to your mate having the cheek to pull an endo on that woodwork!

I give you my first try on a bmx the other year. It felt gnarly, but actually looks tiny and like I'm trying to lay an egg ๐Ÿ™

And a mate who not liking the look of either the lines in front of him thought it would be sick to grind the tree..

Agreed! My Vid of 100mm of air for 0.3 secs was far more on topic. Going to try a little drop tonight (chickened out in the day so might be easier in the dark) will try and get snaps.

Way Hey! Delighted to see I can do some of the stuff Jedi does. Problem is it doesn't involve bikes...

Unless of course the cliff dive is a damn site higher than it looks (aren't they always). Will try and dig out a pic from Cafe Buza in Dubrovnik - should definitely fulfil the requirement for the act to be far scarier than the pic makes it appear.

Where is the cliff Jedi? Lovin the ripples and the pooch with the 'Is he mad' cocked head.

Found it. Definitely one for the Rad Skillz thread but no bikes I'm afraid. The raddest I ever got on a bike was probably fixing a puncture in less than 10 minutes.

And for anyone heading to Dubrovnik - definitely check out Cafe Buza and take yer skinnies!
