Still wrong county ๐Ÿ™‚

A clue - It's a 'well published' descent, but not that popular because of it's location..

Thorlz has it! Apologies, a bit obscure.

Amazed at how quickly these random tracks and trails are identified on here ๐Ÿ™‚

That looks to me like the Ladybower end of the Cutgate trail, just beside the bridge after the long descent.

Try again boxelder.

Hint:
It's close to the previous Hollinsclough picture.

Rob8264, I can name all the hills from the shot and would say it is taken from down near the heads of the valleys somewhere. Possibly up in Rheola forest? I will apply some science and come up with a more accurate location.

EDIT Right I am putting you 2 valleys further west on Varteg Hill?Crynant Forest area???

๐Ÿ™‚ you are all close!

A clue. The mountain in the background is pretty well known and the English border is only about 400 metres away!

Herefords Knob?

Serious guess - Pen Y Fan, from the sarn Helen trail

EDIT - too far from border, so....

Rhos Dorion/Waun Fach From towards Abergavenny way?

Close boxelder, but no cigar! If I turned 90 degrees to my right I would be looking straight at the end of Lord Herefords Knob!

PS. Not that it helps but I can see my house from here ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is there a name for the studying of pics and working out the position from where it was taken?
So Mr Welshfarmer, I reckon you took that picture from somewhere east of Llanthony in the vale of Ewyas.

Here? http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=330366&y=227293&z=0&sv=51.939767,+-3.014345&st=7&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf

Looks like Malverns maybe?
Challenge accepted Esme. I may be some time...

EDIT; too lumpy for Chilterns, if its Wales then I'm buggered

Not the Malverns or chilterns. Could be Wales. Will work on it. But no bike so doesn't count for this thread ๐Ÿ™‚

No, there's no bike, but you are clearly the experts at this game. And it's been bugging me for several years. Sorry to barge in though ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I even wondered about the breed of sheep ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

The sheep have been recently shorn which makes ID difficult at that resolution. Could be Welsh Mountain though, but could just as easily be North Country Cheviots

How's about..

Excuse the thoroughly pissed off looking lass, I dragged my sister out on this ride with promises of sweet singletrack and cake. Nirvana was a hill too far for her so she stashed her bike in the undergrowth and walked it. She didn't even make the cake... poof!

Esme's looks like your neck of the woods Farmer, Langorse way? Might leave that one with you ๐Ÿ™‚

Pretty sure Esmes is not that local to me or I would recognise it. What is confusing me is the low narrow ridge or middle. I do not know of anything like it anywhere in the Brecon Beacons
