Off for a couple of days to the alps and staying in Les Gets.

Roughly how long does it take to get from Les Gets to Morgins, is it best to follow the Pass'Portes route or is there a better way?

We will be on trail bikes so can pedal up the odd "hill" if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

From Les Gets about 1h30-2h tops.

In short yes is the answer. You get to the top of mossets and you can follow the fireroad round to drop you into morgins or you can drop down to champerson and go up the champerson lift and get into morgins that way.

On the way back you may want to ride up the road out of morgins and freewheel down into Chatel and grab the bike bus back to the chair that takes you over the majority of the popular tracks on that side and starts bringing you closer back...

However I saw may as thats only really the best way if youre in Morzine as you can just laze your way back and if you get to the top of linderettes then you just freewheel down past Lac Montriond and into town... but since you need to get to Les Gets you'll still want to hop on pleny before it stops.

Bit of an arse but the tracks are well worth it.. I'd recommend getting on the first super M lift in the morning.

From les gets, 90mins at a guess. Pedal down to morzine, up the super morzine lift, then the zore lift, pedal across the traverse and rather than turning off and driding the bottom of the french national, continue round past the reservoirs and drop into the mossettes lift. Once you've reached the top of the mossettes lift, there is a fireroad (which is signposted) to morgins.

One the way back there are two options, a pedal from the top of morgins into crosets. Or there is a pedal up from morgins town, over into chatel, then either get the bus or ride to chatel bike park.

The route above is the quickest if you want to get some riding in at morgins. If you want to put a nice loop together then the pass portes route is more interesting but will need more pedalling.

Cut down from super Morzine to linderettes. Up and over to the bike park. Down panoramica then there is a route along the valley to chatel that is really nice. It's a slight climb from the mid station. Not sure if it signed but it's fairly obvious. From there it's a short road ride to morgins or up the bubble for an xc route. From morgins it's a couple of lifts to get back via Mossettes. You can get the last lift up and have really long, quiet ride downhill to Morzine. It's then a climb to les gets (one of the reasons we stay in morzine). You could easily be back in Morzine in time for the lift to les gets if you wanted though.
