We're heading to Venosc at Les deux Alpes next week with our bikes and tent, me, my wife and 9 year old son. Does anybody know the best place to get 3 to 4 days worth of lift passes? I mean the cheapest place to buy them, or is it the same price everywhere?
its normally pretty much the same price everywhere. I did a few days there last year and we just got each ticket on the day
Same everywhere but the pass is valid in Alp D'huez -you can buy at the bottom of the Venosc chair lift, it's very quiet there also so could avoid any possible queues.
Thanks for the info.
Alp d'huez, is that where they do the mega avalanche race? saw some pictures in mbuk, looks awesome. Looking forward to trying all the tracks at Deux Alpes, not the blacks though, or as many as we can fit in.
Cheers.

If its any use the online ticket office on the resort website do offers in the winter. I'm guessing that there may be some during the summer too.
Do the red from Les Deux Alps back into Venosc, scared me witless 'till I did it a few more times. It was my first real intro to "Alps Riding" and I was on a 140mm bike, my back end was twitching a bit and the bike was all over the place too - managed to get down in one piece, went up and did it all again
Yeah Lucien, be good to try them over a few times, no surprises 2nd time down. Think we'll be taking it slowly, to start with anyway, boring, but my wife has a Felt Q220 hardtail and I've got an old Specialized enduro, and I'm pretty rubbish too, my son will possibly be bombing off in front on his Norco B-Line. Be great though.
What's the glacier like at the top?

Yup, it's a nice fun descent ๐

Bikes are not allowed on the glacier as such. The section below the Jandri Express is only open to Bikes if most of the snow cover has gone, although there are always a few bits of piste left to practice your snow skills on.

The snow at the top that the [s]fool-[/s]hardy ski on is grey, slushy mush. As Marko says, snow at the top if you take the blue trail down from the Jandri - sketchy in places ๐ฏ I personally found the blacks a bit hard to handle on a 6" bike, reds generally OK if I rolled them 1st, the blues and green were full on boingy boing boing
The red down to venosc was ace, slippy especially the slate bit after the rain, and really exciting, well recommended.
