[Closed] Leg warmers/ arm warmers - any need for these?

Was a bit chilly last night, and raining so ended up wearing undershorts, lycra tights, and waterproof 3/4's over the top. Felt too warm really, and uncomfortable as if wearing too many layers round my waist/ backside.
Thought about buying a set of leg warmers to get rid of the tights (less layers around waist/ bum and can be easily taken off) but never used them before. Anybody recommend this approach?

Yes good for this time of year [and spring] when it can be both cold/chilly ish and also unseasonably warm.
not worth the price though for some fleecy lycra I got some aldi ones that have held up well

Yep, really like arm, knee and leg warmers, on the MTB I rarely wear 'proper' tights or 3/4s. Assos legs are excellent - warmer and more comfy than the vast majority of tights and not stupid money!

I tend to not bother with tights except in the snow, knee warmers for when it's cold, arm warmers when I expect it to be too warm for a long sleeved jersey later in a ride.

Bad knees so prob wear knee warmers more than most (my assos knees dont stay up though - no gripper at top ๐Ÿ™ )

Arm warmers, whip em off if too warm , roll em down if changeable. Super versatile.

Both some of the best kit you can buy for biking. Although my legs are short so the knee warmers just make the shorts into longs, which is even better.

Not a fan of leg warmers, but I love arm and knee warmers this time of year - perfect for chilly morning commutes and warmer rides back in the evening

Essential pieces of kit even in Summer when tracks are overgrown. Gore Wind Stopper ones for chilly weather. Much better than being trussed up in loads of layers!

I use arm and legwarmers a lot and often carry them instead of extra layers in my bar bag when road riding as they take up little space

arm warmers are so versatile for MTBing, however only wear shorts (well 95%) of the time as the slowish speeds and heat you legs generate their is no need and when you have finished your ride the mud on your legs is usually dry so easy to rub off.Along side this if you get tights/knickers/leg warmers wet they usually stay wet were the skin does not. Knee warmers etc for protection from the cold is an urburn myth.

Belgian knee warmers when its v cold.

Arm warders are rather fabulous for road or off road. I use Sock Guy woollen ones that are great at keeping my arms at just the right temperature in most chilly or wet conditions,

arm warmers are ace. keep you warm where they are but allow your pits to vent as normal. useful for under a waterproof too. anyone who refers to them disparagingly as 'roadie kit' just hasn't tried 'em IME. very useful, take up no space in the pack, and my roubaix ones hold little water and dry super-quick too.
used to use knee warmers quite a bit but moved to kyle strait pads so no need off road any more, and just tend to use 3/4s on the commute or under the pads when really cold off road.
